MR.ABDUL GHAFFAR HUSSAIN,OUR GROUP CHAIRMAN HONOURED!
His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, honoured Abdul Ghaffar Hussain, Chairman of the Emirates Human Rights Association and Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief. Shaikh Mohammad honoured them in recognition of their outstanding achievements and ongoing contributions to the UAE community and active participation in humanitarian and social activities. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince; Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; and Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, were present at the distinguished occasion. Shaikh Mohammad decorated Abdul Gaffar and Lt Gen Dahi Khalfan with the Mohammad Bin Rashid sash. Sheikh Mohammad commended the two men for their accomplishments, describing them as two distinguished national figures.
HEPWORTH PME AWARDED AS A KEY SUPPLIER OF DEWA
In line with its strategic plan to deliver the best services to its customers in compliance with up-to-date world practices so as to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority presented its Strategic Plan 2011 – 2015 to key suppliers, consultants and contractors during a meeting dedicated for this occasion held at Grand Hyatt Hotel – Dubai on June 28, 2011.. During DEWA’s Key Suppliers and Consultants Meeting Hepworth PME got award as one of the key Dubai Water and Electricity Authority Suppliers .
RTD (NEWLY BUILT FACILITY)
Over the past three decades Hepworth/Corys and partners have become global leaders throughout MENA in developing, manufacturing, engineering and supplying complete solutions for piping systems. In April 2011 we announced the opening of Hepworth/Corys first Retail Trading Department. The long term plan is to open several RTD facilities throughout MENA & Asia Pacific and become a one-stop shop for their plumbing products needs
REFURBISHMENT OF ABUDHABI BRANCH OFFICE
The Abu Dhabi branch facilities were upgraded to further enhance our commitment to Abu Dhabi and to service all industries, as per Hepworth-Corys new brand promise and vision. On June 9, 2011 Mr. Mohamed Abdul Ghaffar Hussain, Vice Chairman of our group, along with Mr. George Halahel, General Manager, Mr. Stephen Jones, Group Director of SMBD and Mr.Nabil Daoud ,Abudhabi Branch Manager attended the inauguration of the new facility. Mr. Mohamed Abdul Ghaffar Hussain delivered a speech about the Hepworth-Corys brand promise and vision.
ABDUL GHAFFAR HUSSAIN TRAINING CENTRE.
The newly built state of the art training center titled Abdul Ghaffar Hussein Training Centre at Hepworth/Corys Headquarters in Dubai was inaugurated by our Chairman Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Hussein on April 20th, 2011. The corporate management revealed the title at the time of opening as a surprise arrangement and had fixed many old photos of Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Hussain to cherish his memories. Present at the official inaugural ceremony were invited guests, corporate management, staff, representatives from our principals and other officials.
PLASTIC TECHNOLOGY TRAINING FOR UAE NATIONALS
The inauguration of H. E. Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Hussain Training Centre has coincided with the kick off day on July 1st of the first round of Plastics Technology Training for UAE Nationals. This training program will run throughout the year providing a total of 60 university students with knowledge about plastics technology, QA/QC methodology, Sales Practices and Procurement techniques. The centre has been accredited by the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Community Development. This accreditation will be celebrated and crowned by a signed MOU with the Deputy Minister. Full Plastics Technology training expenses and salaries to trainees in UAE or abroad will be borne by H. E. Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Hussain. Kick off date will be the summer of 2011. Hepworth Corys is the first leading company which cares to offer industrial training for the Emirati youth according to the highest international standards. More educational partnerships will be forged with various universities and government bodies to enhance the awareness and stimulate the national community towards local manufacturing, Technology research and development.
INTRODUCTION OF PPM ,GROUP BUSINESS EXCELLENCE
Due to the constantly changing business environment coupled with the ever-so volatile market conditions faced by the Group during the past few years, a need was felt to revisit the enterprise wide business processes and align them with the changing requirements and objectives of the business. Hence a specialized organizational function called “Group Business Excellence” has been introduced in 2011 to lead this task. In partnership with all the key process owners this function will facilitate the development and implementation of the Policies & Procedures Manual (PPM) throughout the Group. PPM is an important tool to optimize process efficiencies by setting operational standards. Around the same time, top management also decided to outsource the Internal Audit function to PWC.
Group Manager – Business Excellence will act as a liaison between the internal audit team and the business process owners. He will also facilitate implementation of process improvements arising from audit reviews, thus ensuring that audit efforts add significant value to the Group’s operations and overall results. In line with our ultimate goal of maximizing customer and employee satisfaction, we always endeavor to maintain organizational excellence by streamlining processes to include the required internal controls, but exclude the proverbial administrative red-tape.
