| INTRODUCING NEW TYPE 517 DIAPHRAGM VALVE |

Georg Fischer Piping Systems Ltd Switzerland held its International Sales Conference (ISC) at it's headquarter in Schaffhausen in February 2010. Georg Fischer uses this event as an opportunity to introduce new products, concepts and solutions to its agents and representatives and to improve networking and synergies between them so as to promote their common business interests. This year Hepworth PME LLC was represented by Mr. Clyde Poppen who not only attended the ISC but also completed an intensive training in Signet Instrumentation and Control.
The main attraction of this year's ISC was the launch of the all new Type 517 Diaphragm valve. The advantages of this valve are a non-corrosive plastic central union nut characterized by homogeneous temperature behavior, an even surface pressure and high pressure rating up to 16 bar. The optimal flow geometry offers double flow with same energy expenditure Standard equipment like a lockable hand wheel, a two-colored indicator and an interface for a self-adjusting limit switch set new standards in terms of user-friendliness. Georg Fischer's new Diaphragm valve is the first PN 16 plastic Diaphragm valve worldwide.
Georg Fischer also launched the Type 037 Metal butterfly valves are ideal for shutting off and controlling the flow of liquid media in water treatment and the chemical process industry. They offer high temperature and pressure resistance as well as outstanding resistance to corrosion and are available in sizes from DN50 - DN1200.

Georg Fischer Piping Systems had developed an innovative, high quality and functional butterfly valve type 567/568 in dimensions DN50 to DN200.The valve has a double eccentric operating principle which ensure, the disc doesn't touch the seal in the open position, thus ensuring good frictional behavior and less wear and tear. Material options include PP-H, PVDF, ABS, U-PVC and CPVC. GF Piping Systems announced an expansion of its large diameter size range for PP-H and (projected for) PVC-U Type 567 Butterfly Valve to include the size DN600. The new size range features the unique double eccentric off-center design and excellent chemical compatibility. The new large size valve features industry-standard ISO flange mount for easy electric or pneumatic actuation with most actuators. Other features include bi-directional capability, pressure rating of 90 psi at 70°F, and hand wheel. The valve is available with either EPDM or FPM seals with 304 or 316 Stainless Steel stem.
Georg Fischer has also expanded the polyethylene butt fusion product range from DN 600 to DN 1000. This enables the Hepworth- Georg Fischer team to cater to project business and has thus opened a whole new market segment.
